Helen Judge

Hi there, here's a bit about me. I was born and raised in New Zealand and now live and work in Cambridge UK. Many years ago I completed a BA in History at Auckland University,NZ. For a few years I worked for New Zealand Social Services and then decided to emigrate to the UK.

In 2007 I completed an MA in Fine Art at Central St Martins College of Art and Design, London. I have always been interested in visual art and make work in a variety of media but after my MA I really got a passion for experimental film and animation, actually, anything involving the moving image. Over the years I have worked collaboratively and on individual projects across a variety of media including performance, sculpture, film and art happenings. Some of this work can be found on My website The Society of Xtras. In my most recent work I have been using java script to make digital collages that move. I like experimenting with and dissecting the glossy aesthetics of advertising. religious images and screen icons. This work can be found on my web site xsif.com.

My work has been shown at national and international galleries and festivals. These have included Temporary Contemporary, London; /Seconds, issue9, London; The Big Chill, Bristol; Elektronentoto Kabinenschau, Dusseldorf; The Kitchen Gallery, Liverpool; Cinesonika 2, Vancouver and the Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival.

If you are interested in commissioning some animation work then please feel free to drop me an email
